Why need to rebuild index so frequently?

Version 2.1.4 (no prefix for that!

A couple of weeks ago the search stopped working altogether, ie no search results.

Rebuilding the index solved it.

But then again yesterday, it would not find results for specific thread title. Again a rebuild it found it.

Is there a reason this should keep happening?

I sent a mass email from XF 2.xx through a Google Apps account. Mail Delivery Subsystem is bouncing several errors back: address not found, delivery incomplete, message blocked, and message not delivered. Many emails sent successfully.

start_url field in pwa settings

So I finally did a test install of 2.2 and was just wondering if it would be possible to add a field for start_url in PWA settings. My board has a makeshift version of manifest file that works well and I prefer the installed icon to load Latest Activity page instead of home page. So the file currently has this line in it: "start_url": "/whats-new/latest-activity",.

From what I have read from other threads, it does seem that I would be able to......

For larger forums with millions of threads, it would be very helpful to have similar thread caching for results (i.e. cache similar threads for 30 days) - ideally using a field in the xf_thread database, so that it works for long term caching. Old pre vBulletin threads not imported

Our first forum was a Yaab, which threads were successfully imported into vbulletin, when we changed to it.

Time and date of the threads and posts are for all " 01.01.1970, 01:00 "

Now we imported all into XF 2.1 and all the old Yaab-Threads weren't imported.

Any ideas?

I note on here that people are sometimes liking a suggestion but not voting it up. It would make sense to me that for a suggestion or an answer to question, that a positive reaction should cause a vote to be cast.

I could use some clarification. I'm building a WordPress site and I want to include a XenForo forum on it. From what I've been reading here, it's possible to make them work together as one cohesive experience for my end-users.. But where I'm not totally clear is how the XenForo will be hosted. The new text editor has less icons - its hardly earth shattering.
But I would like to see the light blue bar behind the icons darker, so that users can see where editing area starts.

Also I have asked many times for a quick and easy and intuiive method of deleting text if you decide to not go aheard with your post. It seems such a basic need.

Make Followers/Following easier to find please.

Hello,
A lot of XF is (IMHO) based around the Twitter experience. With that, I would love to see more features showing following, followers and "Followers you follow" etc.

Pop up ads on the forum - built-in option or add on?

Hi. Looking for a feature to show a pop up on the forum page, with an option to close it. It shouldn't open up on a separate tab or separate window. I'll screenshot and paste an example.

Media Gallery - Is It Worth it??

Hey all. I was about to complete my purchase of XenForo and planned on adding the Media Gallery.. But then it occurred to me that encouraging my users to create albums and upload photos would likely make a serious impact on my site's bandwidth. Sure, I can tell them to embed URLs, but that can be a hassle and the process doesn't always work. They'll just do whatever is easiest for them.

Code line location for prefix filter

I changed the code of the classifieds plugin so that the prefixes displayed would be multiple rather than single prefixes. (I copied the codes of the multiprefix plugin to match the lists of the classifieds plugin).
My problem at the moment is that when I filter with the filter by a certain prefix (which exists in the list), it writes that there are no lists...

After user promotion some user titles are wrong

I have set up a user title ladder and most of my users have the correct title, based on their post count. However, after some usergroup promotions ran a handful of users just had the plain title "Member" applied when it should have been something more elaborate. I have no idea where this came from and it is not something I applied to them manually.

Is there a cache rebuild job which will rebuild user titles please? Or a cron job I can run manually?...

Articles and Expanded View

I am experimenting with an article forum in my dev that I eventually plan to use in my live. In testing the various views, though, I notice that Expanded display style is always showing the full article no matter what I put in Article Snippet Length (I have been putting 500 characters). I just re-read the relevant HYS and it seems to say Expanded View should use snippet length. Preview works fine and I may end up using that anyhow but I'd like to know what's up with this. Anyone else......
